Dollar A Week

In 2002, Rev. Bill Leslie introduced the congregation to the "Dollar A Week" concept.  Even though we tithe and pledge he felt we needed a reminder each week of our gratitude to God for all of his blessings. Thus, each person is encouraged to put a dollar in the offering plate each week as a visual reminder of these blessings.

These dollars are kept in a separate designated account for the year. At the end of the year, the Missions Committee receives grant requests from local charities who are needing funding for a special project.  It must be a stand-alone project, non-budgeted, that would not be accomplished without these funds.  Over the past 16 years almost $400,000 has been given to local organizations to complete these projects.  Click here and view a complete listing of fund recipients.

The opportunity to receive a grant is open to any local charity. Applications are available in early September and are due back by the middle of October. CLICK HERE to download an application and the guidelines for receiving a grant.
