Worship

Worship Services:

Christ of the Hills offers 3 worship services each Sunday morning. The 8:40 a.m. and 10:10 a.m. Traditional services are held in our beautiful, stained-glass filled Sanctuary and are designed for those seeking a more formal expression of worship. It is an engaging experience reached through the classic hymns of the faith, beautiful and inspiring anthems offered by the Chancel Choir accompanied by the organ or piano and special music offered by the Bells of the Hills or guest musicians. The Gathering Service which meets at 10:30 a.m. at the north end of Fellowship Hall is a come-as-you-are, casual, non-traditional worship experience. This service is a fresh, innovative bend of traditional worship expressions with a splash of Modern Christian music. All 3 of our worship services has a Scripture lesson to guide its theme and inspire with a message delivered by one of our pastors.

At the end of each worship service, in a tradition that stems from the beginning
days of Christ of the Hills, the congregation joins hands across the aisles and sings the Lord's Prayer.

 What to wear:

God has no dress code. Come as you are for your physical, mental and spiritual comfort. Some wear dresses or suits and ties, business casual or a sport shirt and jeans.

 Hearing assistance:

Christ of the Hills' Sanctuary is equipped with an Induction Loop Assistive Listening System which will aid those who have Telecoil hearing aid devices.  We also have portable headset devices available at the sound booth at the east side of the Sanctuary for anyone who would benefit from some extra amplification during worship.

Communion:

Communion is incorporated into worship on the first Sunday of each month.  We in the United Methodist Church practice "open" communion. The table of Holy Communion is Christ's table, open to anyone who seeks to respond to God's love. The Wesleyan tradition has always recognized that Holy Communion may be an occasion for the reception of converting, justifying, and sanctifying grace.

Home communion is also available to those who are not able to attend due to illness.  Please contact Art Jungnickel at 501-922-4503 if you wish to receive Home Communion.
